Makati City, Philippines—Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle, DD, the newly installed pastor of the Archdiocese of Manila, was the main celebrant of the Thanksgiving Eucharist for the 20th Foundation Anniversary of the Catholic Bible Society, Incorporated (CBS, Inc.) In his homily, he spoke of Christianity as a religion not just of a book but of a Person—Jesus Christ. He explained to those in attendance that to study the Word of God means to encounter Jesus Christ, that  is, to have a personal relationship with Jesus who is the Word of God alive and who is the best interpreter of the Scriptures for us.

Originally registered as a Catholic Pastoral Bible Foundation, Inc in 1992 with the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, DD as the Chairman, the foundation has evolved into Catholic Bible Society in 1997 and has been under the auspices of the Society of St Paul that is now actively engaged in biblico-catechetical activities in the Philippines.
A sumptuous dinner at the Alberione Hall was served after the Mass, while the entertainers Ms. Cathy Leonardo, the  father and son tandem Bong and Andrew Floyd Lim, the San Antonio Village Anklung Ensemble and the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish (OLSP) Second Chronicles Choir entertained the audience in awe as they showcased their musical talents. The anniversary celebration ended with a Closing Prayer and Blessing by the CBS Executive Director Fr. Reynaldo Reyes, SSP.
