It was one bright Monday morning (May 26, 2008) for everyone in Cebu and a special day for five young men who on that day were accepted to the postulancy program of the Society of St. Paul. The new postulants are Albert Garong from Las Piñas, Victor James Mangrobang of Mindoro, Raphael Mualdo Palomino from Leyte, Maurice John Ramos of Rizal and Eric Mark Salamat from Laguna. The acceptance rites took place in the chapel of the congregation’s house in Cebu. The preceding mass and the acceptance rites where officiated by the Provincial Superior, Rev. Fr. Reuben Areño, SSP. Also in attendance were the local community members Rev. Fr. Joel Baguna, SSP and Rev. Fr. Romy Hitosis, SSP. Also in attendance where the collaborators of ST PAULS Lapu-Lapu City.

During the mass, Fr. Ruben explained the aim and the importance of the congregation’s postulancy program.  He also gave words of encouragement for the newly-accepted postulants. The acceptance rite was solemn and simple and ended with the postulants being given a small emblem of the congregation’s logo which where pinned to the collars of the postulants by Fr. Joel.  A simple lunch celebration capped off the day’s events.
