Silang, Cavite, Philippines— Nine seminarians belonging to the Society of St. Paul (SSP), Mission Society of the Philippines (MSP), Servants of the Paraclete (SP), and Tertiary Capuchins (TC) were awarded their diplomas during the 48th SPSF Commencement Exercises held at the seminary chapel of the Conversion of St. Paul on March 22, 2014.

In that same ceremony three SSP seminarians were given certificates of completion of the two-year Adult Vocation Program of the SSP Province. The graduates are:

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Communication:

  2. Gaza, Kerwin Timothy (SSP)
  3. Ilao, John Aldrin (SSP) 

Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy

  1. Barisoro, Jeyel (SSP)
  2. Cea, Mark Christian (SSP)
  3. Cuadero, Nino (MSP)
  4. Failagmao, Jezzryl (TC)
  5. Nti, Nicholas (SP)
  6. Orit, Alemar (MSP)

Those who finished the Adult Vocation Program are:

  1. Cadiz, Gleindolf (SSP)
  2. Empizo, Michael Angelo (SSP)
  3. Salvador, Rey Marc (SSP)

The Graduation Mass was presided by Fr. Jose Aripio, SSP Provincial Superior. Homilist and Graduation Speaker was Fr. Rogelio “Ogie” Magbanua, SSP. Fr. Ogie, who was a seminary formator before his transfer to Makati to take up advanced studies in Philosophy, regaled those present with his intimate recollection of the characteristics and idiosyncracies of the SSP seminarian-graduates who were under him during their initial years.

The recognition and the giving of the diplomas were done by Fr. Aripio who was assisted by Fr. Teotimo Melliza, SSP, Seminary Rector. Mr. Cecilio Acasio, Faculty President, joined them at the giving of awards for best theses.

After the ceremony, the graduates, the seminary community, and guests were served repast at the seminary gym.
