Blessed James Alberione

Pope Paul VI once said of him:
“He gave the Church new means to express herself, new tools to give vigor and breadth to her apostolate... He was always mindful of the signs of the times and profoundly faithful to God’s inspiration.”
Fr. James Alberione died on November 26, 1971. His final words to the Pauline Family:
“I die... I pray for all. Paradise!”

Fr. Alberione was a pioneer of evangelization through communication. Long before Vatican II recognized the value of media, he founded congregations for men and women to proclaim the Gospel through print, radio, film, and beyond.
Despite great obstacles, he carried out bold projects with limited means, relying on God’s providence and the power of the Eucharist. He urged his followers:
