On October 25, 2026, the Solemnity of Jesus the Divine Master, Cl. Edward Christian Enebrad, SSP, made his perpetual profession in the Society of St. Paul during the 4:00 p.m. Eucharistic celebration at the Sanctuary of St. Paul. Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP Provincial Superior, presided over the Mass and received his vows, while Fr. Khris Emmanuel Llacer, SSP, formator of the temporarily professed members (Juniors), delivered the homily.
Jesus the Divine Master, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, lies at the heart of the spirituality and principal devotion of the Pauline Family, which includes the Society of St. Paul and the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master. At the request of the Pauline Family’s Founder, Blessed James Alberione, the Holy See officially recognized the solemnity of Jesus the Divine Master on September 24, 1958. The Pauline Institutes celebrate this solemnity on the last Sunday of October.
The celebration was made even more meaningful by Cleric Enebrad’s perpetual profession, which was witnessed by his parents and relatives who had come from his hometown of Igbaras, Iloilo. Also present were concelebrating SSP priests, members of the Pauline Family, and friends of the newly perpetually professed member. Aspirants from Silang, Cavite, served as altar servers and choir members under the direction of Cl. Russel Matthew Patolot, SSP.
In his homily, delivered alternately in English and Filipino, Fr. Llacer shared four important reminders with Christian as his “parting advice” upon completing his role as the latter’s formator. Calling them the “4 Ps,” he offered the following reminders:
Prayer — Prayer should go beyond private devotions and personal moments with the Lord. It should also include praying together as a community and with one’s religious brothers.
Presence — It is not enough merely to be visible; one must truly be present. Perpetual profession incorporates a religious more deeply into the institute, calling him to participate actively and wholeheartedly in its life and mission.
Passion — A Pauline must be passionate about doing good and carrying out the apostolate. The word passio means suffering or bearing, reminding the newly professed member that following Jesus also entails a willingness to suffer for Him and His mission.
Paolinità — A Pauline must embody his identity and spirituality in everyday life. Given Cl. Enebrad’s current responsibilities in the Provincial Services Office and Healthcare, he has a particular opportunity to serve with humility and compassion, especially the sick, the elderly, and other vulnerable members of the congregation.
In a brief message to the newly perpetually professed member, Superior General Fr. Domenico Soliman, SSP encouraged Cl. Enebrad to cultivate a great and generous heart. Recognizing the apostolic challenges that lie ahead, he assured him of the Holy Spirit’s guidance and encouragement as an “explorer of new paths for Christ and his Gospel.”
In response, Cl. Enebrad expressed his gratitude to his parents and relatives, his Pauline formators and companions who had accompanied him throughout his formation, and everyone who helped prepare the sanctuary and the liturgy. He also thanked all those who came to share in this significant milestone of his religious journey.
The assembly then proceeded to Alberione Hall for the continuation of the celebration.
May Cl. Enebrad’s perpetual profession deepen his commitment to Jesus the Divine Master and strengthen his dedication to the Pauline mission of proclaiming the Gospel through the means of social communication.
