The Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Department of the Society of St. Paul, Philippines-Australia Province, once again gathered its lay collaborators and their families for “Kasalan sa ST PAULS,” a Church wedding ceremony organized as part of the congregation’s spiritual and moral support for its collaborators and their families. The celebration was held on October 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Pasay City, the only parish currently administered by the Society of St. Paul.

Four couples received the Sacrament of Matrimony: Eric L. Maltu of ST PAULS SM Manila and Michele M. Soriano of ST PAULS SM San Lazaro; Angelito G. Adona and Marlyn A. Morales of SPSFI Makati (Laundry); Marvin L. Cabilec of SSPI Makati (Motorpool) and Haide T. Cayabyab; and Rommel D. Iguiron of SPSFI Makati (Kitchen) and Bebelyn N. Mendoza.

The Eucharistic Celebration with the Rite of Marriage was presided over by Fr. Mario S. Sobrejuanite, SSP, Provincial Superior of the Society of St. Paul, Philippines-Australia Province, and concelebrated by members of the SSP communities in Makati and Pasay.

The homily was delivered by Fr. Rollin “Tuzzi” I. Flores, SSP, who coincidentally celebrated his 28th sacerdotal anniversary on the same day. Reflecting on the vocation of marriage, Fr. Flores emphasized that marriage is more than a relationship founded on changing emotions. It is a calling from God and a vocation to holiness.

“Love is not about feelings. It is about commitment,” he said, encouraging the couples to understand their marriage as a response to God’s call. He further reminded them that, through the Sacrament of Matrimony, husband and wife are called to help one another grow in holiness throughout their life together.

Drawing from his own 28 years of priestly ministry, Fr. Flores also reflected on the importance of remaining faithful to one’s vocation despite changing circumstances and feelings. He shared the story of Nanay Kuring and Tatay Pulo, a couple he accompanied in celebrating their 74th wedding anniversary. Their long marriage, marked by difficulties, disagreements, and perseverance, became for him a witness to enduring commitment.

“Love is either permanent or it is not love at all,” Fr. Flores said, emphasizing that Christian love finds its foundation in God, whose faithfulness does not change.

The celebration brought together the couples, their families, guests, and members of the Pauline community as witnesses to their commitment. Their reception of the Sacrament of Matrimony continued the initiative begun in 2025, when five Pauline collaborator couples were married through the first “Kasalan sa ST PAULS.”

The 2026 initiative was organized by the HRMD Department, headed by its Director, Fr. Christian L. Tafalla, SSP. Overall planning and coordination were led by Cl. John Ervin S. Valerio, SSP, together with the HRMD team, with the support of professed members of the congregation who contributed in various capacities.

Through “Kasalan sa ST PAULS,” the Society of St. Paul continues to accompany its lay collaborators not only in their professional lives but also in their family and spiritual journeys. The celebration reflects the Pauline mission of bringing Jesus Master, the Way, the Truth, and the Life into the concrete realities of everyday life, including the vocation of married life.
