December 12, 2025 — On the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Philippines, Fr. Gil Alinsangan, SSP, marked his 45th sacerdotal anniversary with a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Paul Sanctuary, Makati, at 5:00 PM.
Concelebrating with him were his brother-priests from the Society of St Paul, with family members, friends, benefactors, and members of the Pauline Family gathered to join him in thanksgiving for the gift of Pauline priesthood.
The homily was delivered by Fr. Andres “Andet” Inting, who highlighted Fr. Gil’s significant contributions to the life and apostolate of the Congregation—especially through his humble and faithful presence, his service of authority, his work in formation, and his biblical contributions within the Creative sector.
From the General House in Rome, Superior General Don Domenico Soliman, SSP sent his greetings, saying:
“We thank God with you for these 45 years of faithful witness, for your presence in our Congregation and in the Pauline Family, following Jesus the Master, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, with the mission of proclaiming Him to the world with every means—most especially the most modern and effective ones.”
In his thanksgiving message, Fr. Gil expressed his deep gratitude to all who made it to the Mass despite the heavy Christmas-season traffic. He shared his joy that the celebration coincided with the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, recalling her reassuring words to Saint Juan Diego: “Am I not here, who am your mother?”
He acknowledged those who have accompanied him throughout his priestly journey—supporting him, loving him, and bearing with his weaknesses. Indeed, as St. Paul reminds us, the treasure of the ministry is carried in “earthen vessels, so that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us” (2 Cor 4:7).
After the Mass, the assembly proceeded to Alberione Hall for the agape. Those who were unable to attend the Eucharistic celebration joined the fellowship afterward, as friends, brothers, and sisters gathered as one—truly a “good and pleasant” experience that fostered unity, joy, and blessing (cf. Ps 133:1).
