The new Local Council of the SSP Makati Central Community was installed during a simple yet meaningful rite held within the evening Eucharistic celebration at the Mary, Queen of the Apostles Chapel on July 7, 2026.
The new Local Council is headed by Fr. Raymond Ferraris, SSP, who was appointed Local Superior on June 24. During the community election held on the evening of July 6, the members elected four Local Councilors: Fr. Ruben Areño, SSP; Fr. Lawrence De Peralta, SSP; Fr. Keiv Aires Dimatatac, SSP; and Fr. Armand Tangi, SSP.
Fr. Ferraris previously served as Formator of Novices and is currently one of the Formators of the Pauline Aggregated Institutes. Fr. Areño is a former Provincial Superior and Editor of the Bible Diary 365 Days with the Lord. Fr. De Peralta heads the Logistics Department and served on the previous Local Council. Fr. Dimatatac leads St Pauls Creative Audiovisuals, while Fr. Tangi previously headed the New Product Development Office under St Pauls Creative and also served on the previous Local Council, where he was in charge of special projects.
In his homily, Provincial Superior Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP, reflected on the SSP Constitutions and Directory, emphasizing that authority in the Congregation must always be exercised in service of persons and of the Pauline apostolate. He expressed the community’s hope that the new Local Council would help realize the aspirations, vision, and mission of the Makati Community, and prayed that the Lord and Master would bless the Council with wisdom, faith, strength, and discernment.
In his message to the community, Fr. Ferraris shared that he initially accepted the office with a sense of trepidation because of the responsibilities entrusted to the Local Superior. Acknowledging his personal limitations, he nevertheless embraced the mission, placing his trust in the Lord and in the goodwill, collaboration, and support of his Councilors and the entire Makati Community.
The celebration concluded with a festive community supper at the refectory.
