NOVICE RESTY ABALLE, JR. PROFESSES RELIGIOUS VOWS

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), celebrated on June 7, 2026, was highlighted by the First Religious Profession of Novice Resty Aballe, Jr. during the 4:00 p.m. Eucharistic Celebration at the Sanctuary of St. Paul in Makati City.

The Eucharist was presided over by Provincial Superior Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP, who also received the vows. He was joined by numerous SSP priests in concelebration. Present for the occasion were Resty’s family and friends, led by his parents, Resty Aballe, Sr. and Marizette Aballe. Also in attendance were SSP aspirants from Silang, Cavite, postulants from Pampanga, and members of the Pauline Family.

In his homily, Fr. Jose Aripio, SSP, Novice Master, reflected on the letters of Resty’s name: R for Repentance, E for Eucharist, S for Sorry, T for Thanksgiving, and Y for You Are Mine. He encouraged Resty to carry these spiritual themes with him as he continues his vocational journey.

In his message to the newly professed religious, Superior General Fr. Domenico Soliman, SSP, referred to the words on Novice Resty’s inivitation: “Christ is our peace” (Eph 2:14). He emphasized that this peace is precisely what Paulines are called to bring to the world through every means and language of communication. He further encouraged Resty to continue his formation journey with joy and zeal, following the path set by the XI General Chapter: “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind” (Rom 12:2).

In his thanksgiving message, Cleric Resty spoke about the challenge of finding peace amid the obstacles he encountered along his vocation journey. He recalled leaving his island home for the seminary in Silang during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed gratitude to Almighty God, the Provincial Council, his superiors and formators, and the many companions who accompanied him through the various stages of his initial formation.

At the conclusion of the celebration, the Provincial Superior announced that, alongside his theological studies, Cleric Resty will be assigned to the Online and Creative Audiovisuals sectors and as part of his apostolic formation.

Cleric Resty hails from Lubang, Occidental Mindoro. He entered the Society of St. Paul as an aspirant in Silang, Cavite, in August 2020, began his postulancy in Pampanga in May 2024, and entered the novitiate in Cebu in May 2025.
