Strengthening Communion, Formation, and Mission: APC Philippines Establishes First National Council

MAKATI CITY, Philippines — A historic milestone has been reached for the Association of Pauline Cooperators (APC) in the Philippines with the establishment of its first-ever National Council, marking a significant step in strengthening communion, formation, and apostolic collaboration within the Pauline Family.

The creation of the National Council is the culmination of a series of consultations and discernment processes initiated through online meetings between the General Commission of the Pauline Cooperators and the various Pauline Circumscriptions during the summer of 2025. This was further reinforced during the meeting of APC Formators and the Provincial Superiors held on November 25, 2025, at the Society of St. Paul in Makati.

The Rite of Induction of the newly established APC National Council took place on July 2, 2026 (Thursday) during the 6:30 a.m. Eucharistic Celebration at the chapel of the Daughters of St. Paul in F.B. Harrison, Pasay City.

The Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP, Provincial Superior of the Society of St. Paul in the Philippines-Australia Province. Joining him in this momentous celebration were the Provincial Superiors of the Pauline Family: Sr. Purificacion Barrientos, FSP; Sr. Ma. Magdalene I. Magallanes, PDDM; and Sr. Purisima I. Tanedo, SGBP, whose presence underscored the unity and shared mission of the Pauline Family.

The members of the inaugural APC National Council are:
National Coordinator
• Grace de Castro (FSP)
Assistant National Coordinator
• Agnes Dacono (PDDM)
Secretary
• Nerissa Reyes (SSP)
Treasurer
• Teresita Bauzon (SGBP)

• Greg Aguila (SSP)
Formators
• Sr. Elizabeth Salido, PDDM

• Sr. Ma. Veronica Gungon, SGBP

The General Commission of the Pauline Cooperators, headed by Fr. Boguslaw Zeman, SSP, has been informed of this important development and has formally acknowledged the establishment of the APC National Council in the Philippines.

The formation of the National Council is expected to foster greater collaboration among Pauline Cooperators nationwide, strengthen ongoing formation, and promote the apostolic mission entrusted to the laity in the spirit of Blessed James Alberione. It also reflects the growing vitality of the APC and its commitment to serving the Church through the Pauline charism of evangelization using the means of social communication.

As the APC embarks on this new chapter, members of the Pauline Family entrust the National Council to the loving intercession of Jesus Master, Mary Queen of Apostles, St. Paul the Apostle, and Blessed James Alberione. With their guidance, the Council is called to become an instrument of communion, formation, and missionary zeal, inspiring Pauline Cooperators throughout the Philippines to live and proclaim the Gospel with renewed commitment.

The Pauline Family invites everyone to continue praying for the members of the newly established National Council as they begin their service to the APC and the mission of evangelization.
