A Joyous Celebration of Commitment
MAKATI CITY — Two junior members of the Society of St. Paul–Philippines-Australia Province, Cl. Haileth Gem Joseph Enarsao from Bohol and Cl. Mark Anthony Benedict Puyong from Iloilo, made their Perpetual Profession of Religious Vows on September 27, 2025, at the Sanctuary of St. Paul in Makati. Their vows of chastity, poverty, obedience, and fidelity to the Pope, professed during the Year of Hope, bear witness to the enduring call to holiness and the courage to commit one’s life entirely to God.

The liturgical celebration was presided over by Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite, SSP, Provincial Superior. Fr. Reynaldo Reyes, SSP, their spiritual director for over ten years and current formator of the Young Perpetually Professed (YPP) members, preached on how vows are not ends in themselves but paths to holiness and mission. He urged the brothers to embrace the balance between idealism and reality. They should stay grounded in God, community, and apostolate. Living with simplicity, humility, and a deep reverence for their vocation and the people they are called to serve is essential.
The Message from the Superior General
A message from Fr. Domenico Soliman, SSP, Superior General, was read by Fr. Angelo Paolo Asprer, SSP, Provincial Secretary. In it, Fr. Soliman highlighted how consecrated life gives deep meaning to one’s personal story. He recalled the spiritual experience of Blessed James Alberione on December 31, 1900: “To serve the Church, the people of the new century, and to work with others” (Abundantes Divitiae, 20). He also encouraged the brothers to build a “culture of communication” that, in the words of Pope Leo XIV, “listens — disarmed and disarming.”
The Community's Support
The celebration was attended by SSP priests and brothers, members of the Pauline Family, seminary batchmates, and the families and friends of the professed. It concluded with a joyful thanksgiving fellowship at Alberione Hall, where the spirit of communion was evident.
The Importance of Vows
The vows taken by Cl. Haileth and Cl. Mark Anthony are significant not just for them but for the entire community. These commitments serve as a reminder of the dedication required in religious life. They inspire others to reflect on their own commitments and the importance of living a life aligned with their values.
Embracing the Journey Ahead
As Cl. Haileth and Cl. Mark Anthony embark on this new chapter, they are encouraged to embrace the journey ahead. The path of religious life is filled with challenges and rewards. It requires constant growth, reflection, and a deepening relationship with God. The support from their community will be vital as they navigate this journey.
The Role of Community in Religious Life
Community plays a crucial role in the lives of those who take religious vows. It provides a support system that nurtures growth and fosters a sense of belonging. The shared experiences and collective prayers strengthen the bonds among members. This sense of community is essential for sustaining the commitment to a religious vocation.
Conclusion: A Call to Holiness
In conclusion, the Perpetual Profession of Religious Vows by Cl. Haileth and Cl. Mark Anthony is a profound testament to their faith and dedication. Their journey is a call to holiness, inviting others to reflect on their own paths. As they continue to serve God and their community, may they inspire others to pursue their own vocations with courage and commitment.
The celebration of their vows is not just an event; it is a reminder of the beauty of a life dedicated to service and faith.
