The story behind
The Saint Paul Seminary Foundation, Inc. (SPSFI), with SEC Registration No. AN092-004450 dated November 3, 1992, was established to support the training and formation of individuals at various stages of Pauline religious life: aspirants, postulants, novices, temporary professed, and perpetually professed members, both priests and brothers, in ongoing formation. The Society of St. Paul continues to subsidize SPSFI to ensure a steady and reliable continuity of personnel for the mission of the Society.
In June 1993, the Saint Paul Seminary was transferred to Silang, Cavite, and on July 7, 1993, the Foundation formally inaugurated the St. Paul Seminary Foundation Complex as an academic institute. It opened its doors to bona fide seminarians seeking to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Communication.
The Philosophy program is primarily intended as a foundation for theological studies to be undertaken after college, while the Communication program is specially tailored to prepare Pauline seminarians for their apostolate in the culture of media and communications. These programs are also open to men and women religious and laypeople interested in academic and apostolic formation.
In its latest curriculum revision, CHED Certification issued on July 13, 2017 reaffirmed government recognition of the following degree programs: Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (GR 030, s. 1993) and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (GR 030, s. 1993).
Beyond academics, SPSFI also actively promotes and supports missionary and charitable initiatives through various religious and civic activities, including teachings, seminars, lectures, outreach programs, and the creation and distribution of audio-visual materials and good literature aimed at evangelization and values formation.
